Community Music and Well-being

As a violinist, I believe music holds the power to create meaningful change beyond the concert stage. My aim is to bridge artistic excellence with social purpose, and my journey has been shaped not only by solo performances but also by a deep commitment to sharing music in ways that foster inclusion, support emotional well-being, and strengthen human connection. Whether collaborating with international initiatives or engaging with local communities, I am dedicated to building a musical practice that uplifts, empowers, and brings people together.

In addition to my solo work, I am deeply committed to music’s potential as a tool for community integration and well-being. My involvement in community music initiatives has greatly enriched my understanding of its transformative power. In both 2020 and 2023, I had the honor of representing Italy at the European Festival of Soloists, organized by the Delegation of the European Union, EU Member State embassies in Venezuela, and El Sistema.

In 2020, due to the global pandemic, the festival was held entirely online. I contributed by giving virtual masterclasses and performing in a streamed concert that reached audiences across borders. In 2023, with the return of the festival to an in-person format in Caracas, I was able to perform live and lead a masterclass, engaging directly with young musicians and the wider community. These experiences deepened my appreciation for music’s role in promoting individual well-being and fostering a strong sense of community.

During a concert tour in Australia, I had the opportunity to lead a masterclass for students in Perth. This experience reinforced the importance of teaching as a means of sharing knowledge, inspiring young musicians, and building meaningful connections through music. Teaching not only enriches my own artistic journey but also allows me to contribute to the growth of others.

At the Royal College of Music, my studies—including a literary review on Sistema Scotland and its impact on community music—motivated me to actively engage with music therapy and community-based sessions. I took part in HMDT Music’s Treehouse programme in London, supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), particularly those on the autism spectrum.

As part of my commitment to exploring music’s role in well-being, I also took part in concerts held in retirement homes across Italy. These experiences reaffirmed the profound emotional power of music, particularly its ability to connect across generations, evoke memories, and offer comfort. In these intimate settings, music became not just a performance, but a shared moment of presence, empathy, and joy.

Through these experiences, I have witnessed first-hand how music can foster inclusion, promote healing, and bring people together. As I continue this journey, my goal is to create a lasting, positive impact—building connections through music that transcend boundaries and enrich community well-being.
